Coca-Cola’s ongoing customer participation campaign, ‘Share a Coke’, has the people of Northern Ghana riled up about an omission of the names of people from the region.
The ‘Share a Coke’ campaign features Coke bottles with names on them, and some people are aggrieved that the Coke bottles that were produced to promote the campaign in the West African country allegedly do not carry any Northern Ghanaian or Muslim names.
The omission has reportedly led to increasing calls for a boycott of the drink until the anomaly is corrected.
While some say it might just be Coke’s strategy to create a demand for the customised, most wonder why they would completely omit Muslim names.
Coke is yet to release a statement about the matter.
